Our Story

Baird Avenue Bakery was founded by Owner and Pastry Chef Nicole, affectionately known as the Square Lady. The name Baird Avenue holds deep meaning—it was the street where her grandmother lived in Los Angeles, California, and the center of family gatherings that inspired Nicole’s lifelong love for baking.
As an only child, Nicole began baking alongside her grandmother at a young age, learning the value of tradition, care, and creating desserts meant to be shared. Years later, she returned to baking as a creative outlet and a way to relieve stress. Her signature dessert squares quickly became a favorite among coworkers and friends, whose encouragement led her to transform her passion into a business.
Now based permanently in Surprise, Arizona, Baird Avenue Bakery proudly serves handcrafted dessert squares, pound cakes, and candy made in small batches with quality ingredients. Nicole is a graduate of the Arizona Culinary Institute, where she completed the Avocational Course in Baking and Pastry, refining the skills behind every recipe.
